Math Update:

You will notice that your child will start bringing multiplication worksheets home. Today they should bring a multiplying by 2 worksheet home. I have explained to the students that I want them to be timed for two minutes and to answer as many of the facts in that time. When the two minutes are up, they should draw a line and then continue answering the facts until they have completed all of the problems. The 3rd grade teachers have determined that while the new math curriculum does a great job at teaching the students how and why multiplication works, students are still struggling with coming up with the answers. We hope that some fact practice will help students. I will periodically test the students over the various multiplication facts until they have been mastered.
