STATE REPORT
The following post is for the students who have committed to completing a state project. The information below is exactly the same as the information that was on the sheet that was signed. I realize that some students may have accidentally misplaced the sheet. Let me know if you have questions. Remember, the project is due on May 12th.
You may choose to make a report on one of our fifty states. You can make a poster, booklet, or brochure. The work should be your own work, not copied from the Internet. Be neat and creative. Neatness counts. This will count as an extra test grade.
Your report must include the following:
- Name of state (5 points)
- Colored map of state including the state capital, 3-5 of the larges cities, main rivers and landforms, and the states that border your state, all labeled. (10 points)
- A well written short paragraph describing the climate, pictures could be included (7 points)
- A list of natural resources found in the state. (7 points)
- A list of the main crops, products produced, and any major industries found in state. (7 points)
- Short paragraphs about 3-5 places of interest including the name, location, and why the place is interesting. (7 points)
- A list or paragraph about any famous people from the state and why they are famous. (7 points)
- Facts including current governor, capital, area in square miles, population, year of statehood, motto, song. (7 points)
- Colored pictures of the bird, flower, tree, and flag (8 points)
- What Native Americans first lived in the state. (7 points)
- Any other interesting, historical, or general facts about the state. (7 points)
